What Is Himcare

  • The scheme offers free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh
  • As of now, 5.50 lakh families are covered under Himcare and free treatment facility is being provided through 201 hospitals, including 63 private hospitals
  • About 87,870 patients have availed the benefit of the scheme during the past one year on which Rs 78.60 crore have been spent

Registration under the scheme Himcare has been extended till June 30 due to the Covid pandemic, RD Dhiman, Additional Chief Secretary, Health, said here on Monday.

He said to facilitate the families which had been unable to make their Himcare cards due to the lockdown, the government had decided to extend the registration date.

The families whose cards have expired on June 15 can also renew their cards till the given date. Families whose cards will expire between June 15 and June 30 can also renew their scheme cards during the given period.

The beneficiaries can register themselves by visiting the departmental website www.hpsbys.in or through Lok Mitra Kendras. The details of the required documents that need to be uploaded are available on the website, Dhiman said.
