Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Registrar Gian Sagar Negi chaired a review meeting to assess the status of ongoing works and to plan new projects for the boys’ and girls’ hostels on Tuesday. The move comes after a recent visit by Vice-Chancellor Prof Mahavir Singh. Negi directed all engineers to expedite the ongoing works on priority basis. Chief Warden Prof RL Zinta along with officials of Central Public Works Department (CPWD) were also present in the meeting.

Prof Zinta and other wardens apprised the Registrar of the current status of various works. The Registrar also sought detailed progress reports from CPWD officials. The officials informed that the renovation work of Shrikhand, Iravati and Vipasha hostels would be completed within three months. They further stated that estimates for Dr YS Parmar, SBS Tribal and Tagore Boys Hostels, and Saraswati, Chanderbhaga and Renuka hostels were being prepared and would be submitted soon for administrative and expenditure sanctions, after which its work shall commence.
