A member of the Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission, Prof (Dr) Kamal Jeet Singh, has been appointed as the founder Vice-Chancellor of Madhusudan Law University, Odisha. He will serve as the VC for four years with effect from the date he assumes office. He has authored three books and guided 17 PhD students, besides publishing several research papers. He has 28 years of teaching experience and 18 years of administrative experience. "I express my gratitude to the Governor and the Government of Odihsa. It is a big responsibility as all law colleges of the state would be affiliated to this university," said Kamal Jeet Singh.

World Health Day celebrated

World Health Day-2021 was celebrated at Sai Sanjivni Institute of Medical Sciences in Solan. The theme was "Building a fairer, healthier world" for the year. The students of the nursing school presented a play titled "Vaccine-the only solution" in a bid to highlight its dire necessity in the pandemic. Creating awareness about the pandemic, students stressed the need for vaccine. Institute director Dr Sanjay Aggarwal and principal Anant Gautam addressed the gathering and explained the significance of vaccination. Awareness was also created on the need for social distancing and wearing masks.

Declare results, demands SFI

Members of the HPU campus unit of SFI have alleged that incomplete results of the students of the first and second years of undergraduate courses have been uploaded on websites. The results were uploaded on March 17 on a trial basis and the university said that results would be uploaded in a few days but even after 20 days, the needful has not been done. Demanding that the results be declared at the earliest, the SFI members said the date of admission should also be extended from April 10 because a segment of students was unable to fill admission forms as the site was crashing.
