Shimla, April 18
The state will finally get some relief from the scorching heat as the Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorm and lightning in coming days.
Issuing a yellow warning, the department predicted rainfall in low, mid and high hills of all the districts except Lahaul and Spiti from April 20 to 22.
The rainy spell will also benefit the vegetable crops which have been under stress due to the heat wave conditions prevailing in the state.

The hoteliers are hopeful that the respite in temperature will lead to tourist inflow in the state. As many as 20,866 vehicles entered Shimla during the recent long weekend from April 14 to April 17. Hoteliers claimed that the bookings were still pouring in.
This year, the state has recorded rain deficit of 94 per cent from March 1 to April 18. During this
period only 9.2 mm rain was recorded against normal rainfall of 152.8 mm in the state.
Una was the hottest during the day with a high of 41 degree C while Keylong was coldest with a minimum of 4 degree C.
