Chamba, June 9

The Chamba Welfare Association, an NGO, has expressed concern over an irregular HRTC ‘mudrika’ bus service and electric cab facility in the hill town.

At a meeting of the association held under the chairmanship of its vice-president AK Bhardwaj recently, members said the ‘mudrika’ bus service was started by the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) last year, but it was shut after a few weeks.

Bhardwaj said the suspension of the bus service had severely affected the patients. Similarly, electric cabs were also not in service for the last couple of days. The association has urged the HRTC authorities to resume the cab service between Chamba town and Karian and the ‘mudrika’ bus service in and around the town so that patients, their attendants and other commuters do not face more inconvenience.

The members said if their demands were not fulfilled by the Himachal Road Transport Corporation authorities, they would meet Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in this regard.
