Shimla, June 29

The state government today deferred the retirement of all medical officers, faculty members and paramedical staff of all categories in the Health and Family Welfare Department who were to retire till August 31, 2020.

As per the orders issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Health) RD Dhiman, the services of all those who were due to retire on June 30 will be extended up to August 31, 2020.

As per an earlier order the services of all those due to retire on March 31, April 30 and May 31 2020 had been continued and their retirement deferred. The decision has been taken in view of the need of health staff to treat the increasing number of Covid patients.

Besides, the services of all those retired employees who had been re-employed shall continue till further orders. The health department had re-employed employees who had retired between December 31, 2017 and February 29, 2020 in view of Covid pandemic.

Dhiman added that the terms and conditions for continuation of the services of employees, who were due to retire, would be governed by certain conditions. The salary of such employees would be drawn on the basis of vacant posts. In case no suitable post for grant of extension or re-employment is available, ex-cadre post shall be deemed to be created.
