Hamirpur, April 14
“It is due to the farsighted vision of Dr BR Ambedkar that every citizen has the right to equality and right to vote in the largest democracy of the world,” said Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister, while paying tributes to him on his birth anniversary today.
He was addressing a gathering at Nadsin village in Sujanpur. He said Ambedkar took care of the welfare of every section of society.
The BJP had encouraged people from the SC category and honoured them while the Congress had only exploited their sentiments, he said.
In Nurpur, Forest and Sports Minister Rakesh Pathania unveiled Ambedkar’s stautes at the mini-secretariat complex and in the gram panchayat bhawan at Baduhi.
Pathania remembered the fight of Ambedkar for the underprivileged section of society. He said Ambekar had given a strong foundation to independent India by presenting the Constitution.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, election in-charge of AAP in HP, celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti at Janjehli in the Seraj Assembly segment of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Mandi district. The event was organised by the Akhil Bhartiya Koli Samaj (Dalit community), in which Jain was invited as chief guest.
