During the visit, the minister as well as the directors interacted with students and teachers, observed teaching methods, academic activities and student participation. They also appraised the students about the education system in the schools of Himachal Pradesh. The delegation also visited vocational labs in these schools, where students were being imparted technical, vocational, and skill-based education.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the Telangana Government had established residential schools at several places, especially in remote and backward areas. “These schools provide quality residential education along with modern classrooms, digital resources, science laboratories, sports facilities and co-curricular activities. In addition, day-boarding schools are also being effectively run in the state,” he said.

Lauding the language labs established in Telangana’s schools, Thakur said that in these labs, students were not limited to textbook learning; instead, they practically developed communication skills. “Through digital audio-visual resources and interactive activities, students are given regular language practice, resulting in continuous improvement in their expression, confidence and presentation skills,” he said.

“Telangana has made education more practical by integrating its curriculum with science and mathematics laboratories. In these modern science-math labs, students understand classroom-taught theories through experiments, models and activities. These labs help students develop a deeper understanding of subjects and logical analysis of mathematical concepts. This approach fosters curiosity, scientific thinking, and innovation among students,” he added.

The minister further said that the Telangana Government was placing special emphasis on English-medium education to prepare students in line with modern education systems and a competitive environment. “Along with this, schools are also regularly promoting cultural preservation, moral values, social responsibility, art, music, sports, and other co-curricular activities to ensure the holistic development of students,” he remarked.

He also said that the Himachal Pradesh Government was also giving top priority to holistic development of children. “Rapid work is going on to establish at least one Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School in every Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC), where world-class education along with sports, arts, science, technical education and personality development activities will be provided to the students,” he said.
