Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced Rs 10 lakh for a helipad at Saroa in Seraj, Mandi district.

He was here to attend a function on the theme “Akhand Shiksha Jyoti Mere School Se Nikle Moti” at Government Senior Secondary School, Saroa.

Thakur said Rs 50 lakh each would be provided for the construction of science blocks in Government Senior Secondary Schools, Saroa, and Government Senior Secondary School, Bara, adding that science classes would be started from the next session.

“Akhand Shiksha Jyoti Mere School Se Nikle Moti” aimed at honouring the old students of government schools.

The CM announced health sub-centres at Tandi, Shimlidhar and Kashad. He announced Rs 10 lakh for the construction of an examination hall, two rooms in Primary School, Saroa and a veterinary hospital at Bara, apart from allocating Rs 65 lakh for the construction of link roads in the area.

“Primary School, Saraji, and Middle School, Johat, will be upgraded. A PHC building will be constructed at Bara, the Chief Minister said.

He announced Rs 31,000 for students presenting cultural programmes and a new patwar circle in Kuklah. An amount of Rs 20,000 would be provided to Mahila Mandals, he added.

Incharge, state Lok Sabha elections, Tirath Singh Rawat said the state government was on the path of progress.
