MLA Narender Thakur on Sunday laid the stone for the construction of a bridge and a link road to Baral village situated on the outskirts of the town.

Addressing a gathering, the MLA said, “Roads bring development to rural areas and help improve living standards.” He said though the village was located a few km from the district headquarters, it lacked even the basic facilities such as a link road.

The MLA said Rs 2.27 crore had been earmarked for the construction of the road and the bridge to provide all season connectivity to the village. The MLA said villagers had donated land for the construction of the road and the bridge.

He said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had assured that there would not be dearth of funds for development works.

The MLA said Rs 8 crore had been sanctioned for the improvement of roads in the district. Later, the MLA visited Dr Radhakrishnan Govt Medical College and Hospital and inspected facilities. He distributed fruits to patients.
