Sachin Hiremath takes charge as new Una SP
Una police to soon issue a helpline number where citizens could share information regarding the demand and supply chain of contraband
Sachin Hiremath, a 2020 batch IPS officer, today took charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Una district. Hiremath, while interacting with mediapersons at his office, spelt out his immediate priorities. Prior to this assignment, he was the SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau and State Vigilance Wing.
He said that he would give top priority to maintaining continuity in the efforts of the state government to control the menace of drugs in society. He added that the Una police would soon issue a helpline number where citizens could share information regarding the demand and supply chain of the contraband.
The SP said that the safety and security of the citizens and the maintenance of law and order in the district would also be his priority. He added that he proposed to bring in technology-oriented effective and visible policing in the district and had already taken feedback regarding illegal arms coming in the hands of anti-social elements here.
He said that since Una district shared border with Punjab, inter-state coordination with the counterparts woule be ensured to check the flow of drugs and illegal weapons on both sides.
