Participants paid heartfelt tributes to the victim and pledged to continue their fight until justice is delivered. Speakers strongly condemned the heinous crime and called for the harshest punishment for the accused, including the death penalty. A demand for financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to the victim’s family was also raised.

Beyond the murder case, protesters highlighted the growing menace of “chitta” (drug abuse) in the region, urging authorities to take strict action and launch sustained efforts to make Sarkaghat drug-free. Another pressing concern raised was the suspension of bus services to Nain village over the past month, which has caused significant inconvenience and raised safety issues for residents.

Several prominent voices, including CPM leader Bhupender Singh, SFI leaders Ritvik, Kartar Singh, Shoma Rana and other social activists and union representatives, addressed the gathering. They stressed the need for collective resistance against crime and drug abuse and assured continued agitation.

Earlier, Siya Guleria was cremated in her native village amid an emotional gathering attended by hundreds, including local MLA Dilip Singh and senior officials. The protest concluded with a unified resolve to sustain the movement against injustice and social evils in the region.
