Palampur, July 12
The complex of Senior Secondary School, Dhaliara, in Dehra Gopipur is under risk of suffering damages after its retaining wall, which along the national highway, collapsed following heavy rainfall in last 24 hours. The science block of the school has also been damaged.
Officials of NHAI have visited the site and assured the school authorities that necessary steps would be taken to protect the the three-storey building from further damage.
The local panchayat Pradhan, Virender Mankotia, had appealed to the SDM Dehara Gopipur to initiate necessary steps to repair the building and construct a retaining wall of concrete immediately.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall in the area has damaged large number of roads and buildings while potable water supply schemes have also been disrupted.
