A delegation of 28 councillors of the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC), led by Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, visited the Bhandup Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Mumbai today.

Members learned about the water treatment process and advanced technologies being used at the facility.

Operated by SUEZ, the 900 MLD plant was commissioned in 2014. It is one of the key water treatment facilities under the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

A spokesperson for SUEZ said that the plant supplied drinking water to nearly 6 lakh residents of Mumbai .

The councillors toured the entire plant and appreciated its efficient operations and modern infrastructure being run by the authorities concerned.
