Snowfall and rain to continue in Himachal Pradesh till April 5; yellow warning issued for Mar 31
Minimum and maximum temperatures across the state are expected to rise by 3°C to 5°C in the next few days
The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh will continue to witness fresh snowfall while remaining parts of the state will be receiving light to moderate rainfall as the State Meteorological Department has issued yellow weather warnings for Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra and Chamba districts for March 31.
As a result, these districts will be witnessing thunderstorms along with lightning and gusty winds on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain continued to occur in many parts of the state during the past 24 hours.
Light snowfall occured in Lahaul and Spiti districts, while Solan received 18.4 mm, Manali 14 mm and Shimla 4.4 mm.
The department has forecasted continuous snowfall and rain across the state till April 5, with intensified showers on April 3 and 4. However, minimum and maximum temperatures across the state are expected to rise by 3°C to 5°C in the next few days.
Minimum temperature in Shimla was 11.8°C, Dharamshala 9.5°C, Manali 7.1°C, Kangra 15.2°C, Mandi 13.3°C, Solan 11°C, Bilaspur 17.5°C, Kalpa 3°C, Sundernagar 12.1°C, Bhuntar 9.3°C, Kufri 5.8°C, Kasauli 12.5°C, Paonta Sahib 19°C and Tabo 2°C.
The highest maximum temperature in the state was 29.2°C, which was recorded in Una, while the lowest minimum temperature in the state was 1.5°C, which was recorded in Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district.
