Solan university marks World Pharmacists Day
School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University, today celebrated World Pharmacists Day with a series of events dedicated to recognising and honouring pharmacists. The theme of this year’s World Pharmacists Day, “Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs,” highlighted the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare, particularly in ensuring the availability and proper use of medical supplements.
The event began with Prof Deepak Kapoor, Dean of Pharmaceutical Sciences, extending a warm welcome to the chief guest, Gopal Krishan Sharma, who had served as the president of the Himachal Pradesh State Pharmacy Council and is currently the Chief Pharmacy Officer in Nalagarh. The occasion was marked by an oath-taking ceremony conducted by Prof Kapoor.
In his address, university Chancellor Prof PK Khosla emphasised the crucial role pharmacists play in the healthcare system, especially in the current global health landscape. He encouraged students to focus on research that benefits humanity.
Gopal Krishan Sharma, delivered a talk on the “Role of Pharmacists in Meeting Global Health Needs.” He shared how pharmacists are transforming global health by empowering patients and healthcare providers.
Drugs Inspector Lalit Shalta shared insights into the challenges he faces during his work. Drugs Inspector Vikas Thakur motivated students by sharing his experience and offering advice on competitive exams.
