Vikrant Pandey has done Solan proud by bagging the 11th rank in the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services Examination-2025, the results of which were declared recently.
With determination and perseverance, Pandey achieved success in his fourth attempt. He has been selected as an Assistant Commissioner in the State Taxes and Excise Department. He is a law graduate and has done bachelors in business management. It was while studying law that he decided to take up civil services exam. He did schooling from St Mary’s School, Kasauli, and later at St Luke’s, Solan.
Pandey had been serving as an extension officer since August 2025 after clearing the allied examination. However, he did not give up his ambition of joining the state administrative services. After meeting his official exigencies, he invested time in preparing for the civil services exam with political science and international relations as optional subjects. While relying on self-study, Pandey was determined to crack the coveted examination.
Pandey (30) still hopes to improve his ranking further and is geared up to appear in the exam yet again. He thanks his teachers at Himachal Pradesh University’s law department, besides his sister and parents for his success. He drew inspiration from his father Pradeep Pandey, who himself was a 1983-84 batch HAS officer, while his mother had served as an Assistant Director at the Central Research Institute, Kasauli.
