Soldier dies during boxing practice at Bakloh training school in Himachal's Chamba

A 26-year-old Indian Army soldier died after sustaining a serious injury during a boxing practice session at the Special Forces Training School in Bakloh, Chamba district.

The deceased has been identified as Mohit, a resident of Faridabad, Haryana, who was serving in the Army’s 29 Para Unit. The incident occurred on Saturday when he suffered a severe blow near his left ear during the training session.

After he collapsed due to injury, fellow soldiers rushed him to the Military Hospital at Bakloh for immediate medical attention. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

On receiving information, the Bakloh police reached the hospital, took custody of the body and initiated an investigation. According to police officials, no foul play or suspicion has emerged so far.

Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Saklani said inquest proceeding has been initiated under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
