Soon, PET scan to be available at IGMC-Shimla, says Himachal Health Minister
Facilities available without any charge at the Shimla hospital will continue to be free
A PET scan facility will be inaugurated at the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital, Shimla, shortly, said Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil after chairing a meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) here today. He added that the charges for the diagnostic facility used for detecting cancer would be kept much lower compared to the facility available in private sector.
Shimla MLA Harish Janartha said that the RKS had sent a proposal to the government for increasing the charge of facilities like MRI at the hospital. “We’ve proposed a minimal hike. The charges will be much less compared to those in the private sector. The facilities that are at present available without any charge will continue to be free,” he added.
In the meeting, a decision was taken to raise the rent of the shop of the Civil Supply Corporation on the IGMC premises to five per cent of the annual turnover from the existing one per cent.
