Mukesh Agnihotri

UNA, January 14

Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri today said the decision of the state government to squeeze the Budget session to 13 sittings proved that it was trying to shy away from discussing major issues.

In a press note issued here, he said only 13 sittings had been proposed which was insufficient to discuss important issues. He said the business to be transacted during the session included the Governor’s speech followed by discussion on it, presentation of the new Budget and discussion, besides other important discussions on the implementation of promises and announcements in the previous Budget, the fiscal health of the state and many more.

Agnihotri said the Opposition also wanted discussion on the deteriorating law and order situation, poor implementation of Union Government announcements and schemes, besides unemployment, adding that the party in power was trying to stay away from discussions. — OC
