State-level Haroli festival to be held from April 27 to 29
Presiding over a review meeting of the organising committee at the Haroli sub-divisional secretariat today Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said the state-level Haroli festival will be organised at the Kangar ground in Haroli Assembly segment from April 27 to 29.
The DC said a colourful procession from Haroli rest house to the venue will mark the beginning of the three-day fest. He said during the day, cultural troupes representing schools and colleges of Una district will perform, while troupes from different parts of the state will also showcase the art and culture and heritage of their areas. He added that popular Punjabi and Hindi singers will also perform at the event.
Besides, traditional sports, entertainment activities will also be a part of the festival. The sports which will be arranged, include wrestling and kabaddi and hot air ballooning. He said in order to ensure greater participation of locals, cattle fair, dog show and baby shows will also be organised, along with stalls depicting developmental schemes of different departments and local produce by farmers, self-help groups and micro-enterprises will also be showcased. In order to ensure proper administration and coordination, committees and sub-committees were constituted.
