State likely to receive below normal rainfall this month
Himachal Pradesh, that witnessed 84 per cent rainfall deficit in January, is very likely to receive below normal rainfall in February. As per the state’s Meteorological Department, there is a 35 to 45 per cent probability that most parts of Himachal Pradesh will receive below normal rainfall during February. Besides, the state is very likely to witness very less cold waves during the month which could be less than zero to 10 number of cold waves.
Minimum temp to be above normal

Meanwhile, heavy to moderate snowfall occurred in the higher reaches of the state in the past 24 hours, mainly in Lahaul and Spiti district. Light rainfall was also recorded in many parts of the state. Light snowfall and rainfall is very likely to occur in isolated areas of the state on February 5, while weather will remain dry across the state from February 6 onwards.
Minimum temperature in Shimla was 7.5°C, Dharamsala 5°C, Manali 4.1°C, Dalhousie 3.9°C, Solan 4°C, Mandi 6°C, Bilaspur 4.7°C, Kangra 7.8°C, Chamba 5.5°C Kasauli 7.2°C Sundernagar 5°C, Keylong 0.3°C, Kalpa 2.4°C, Nahan 8.1°C, Paonta Sahib 10°C and Una 3°C.
The highest maximum temperature in the state was 25.2°C, which was recorded in Bhuntar of Kullu district, while the lowest minimum temperature was minus 7.1°C that was recorded in Tabo village of Lahaul and Spiti district.
