State U-19 badminton girls reach National School Games quarter-finals

The Himachal Pradesh Under-19 girls’ badminton team has qualified for quarter-finals at the National School Games, being held in New Delhi.

So far, Himachal’s team has defeated Madhya Pradesh by 2-0, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan by 2–1 and defeated Chandigarh by 2-1, securing its position in the top eight teams. Himachal’s team will next face Tamil Nadu.

Bhagwan Das, coach, said Pragya Verma and Garima Verma had delivered outstanding performances, playing a crucial role in helping the state team reach the quarter finals.

He expressed confidence that the team would continue its excellent performance in and emerge as champions.

Meanwhile, the boys’ team is also performing well and so far has secured victories in the first two games. The boys team has beaten Odisha and Chhattisgarh’s team by 2-0 each.
