Steer clear of drugs, MLA Bali tells Class XII students

600 pupils given career counselling at PM SHRI school

A one-day career counselling workshop for Class XII students was organised at PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary Model School, Nagrota Bagwan. Local MLA RS Bali was the chief guest.

Bali, while addressing the gathering, said that students should move forward with optimism and clarity of purpose. He underlined that awareness about emerging and promising career options was essential for building a bright future. Describing the youth of Nagrota Bagwan Assembly constituency as the backbone of the region’s future, he said guiding them in the right direction among his top priorities.

The workshop witnessed the participation of about 600 students of Class XII representing around 11 schools from the constituency. The initiative aimed at helping students identify career paths aligned with their interests and aptitude, enabling them to make confident and informed decisions about higher education and professional pursuits.

Prominent educationists, including the Principal of Government College, Dehri, Sachin Kumar, Principal Nikhil Sharma of Government Girls School, Nagrota Bagwan, director of Gunjan Organisation Society Vijay Kumar and Principal Deepak Manu were also present and shared insights on career planning, higher education opportunities and competitive examinations.

During his address, Bali urged students to stay away from substance abuse and to pursue their goals with determination and discipline. He encouraged them to set clear objectives and work persistently towards achieving them. As a token of encouragement, he presented each student with a diary carrying his motivational message.

On the occasion, a digital library established at the school was also inaugurated. The facility is expected to enhance students’ access to learning resources and assist them in preparing for various competitive examinations.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session, equipping students with practical guidance and renewed confidence to shape their academic and professional futures.
