Transport and Industries Minister Bikram Singh today laid the foundation stone of a bus stand to be built at a cost of Rs 1.37 crore at Rewalsar in Mandi district. He said that the construction of the bus stand would be completed soon.

The minister, while addressing the closing ceremony of the four-day Baisakhi fair later, said, “The state government is emphasising on providing safe, reliable and comfortable transport services to people. Adequate funds are being made available for the development of bus stands in the state”.

He assured MLA Inder Singh Gandhi of fulfiling the demands related to the restoration of bus routes that were closed during the Covid outbreak, and introducing new routes.

Bikram Singh directed the department officials to start bus service to Haridwar from Rewalsar immediately.

He asked them to identify 35 bighas of government land at Ghatta in Kummi gram panchayat to build an industrial shed there. He directed the General Manager of the Industries Department to immediately inspect Ghatta land for the purpose.

“It will facilitate people to set up small industrial units at Ghatta and create employment opportunities for the local youth,” he added.
