A one-day entrepreneurship awareness programme was organised at Government College Chamba in collaboration with the Department of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, and NITCON Limited.
College principal Rakesh Rathore was the chief guest on the occasion and Shubham Jamwal, trainer from NITCON Limited, was the keynote resource person. The primary objective of the workshop was to provide students with comprehensive knowledge about start-ups, business models, entrepreneurship development and various government schemes promoting self-employment.
Jamwal said entrepreneurship development equipped the youth with necessary skills and confidence to transform innovative ideas into viable business ventures. He encouraged students to become “job creators” rather than “job seekers”.
The session highlighted that entrepreneurship played a vital role in reducing unemployment, boosting Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, promoting innovation and utilising local resources to build a self-reliant society. Students were also informed about major government initiatives such as Start-up India, which encouraged youth-led start-ups, and Make in India aimed at promoting manufacturing in the country.
Rathore urged students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and explore innovative opportunities.
