The students, who are pursuing their education at prestigious institutions such as IIMs, IITs, and National Law Universities, are in Shimla to interact with various dignitaries and exchange ideas.
Pathania briefed the students about the history of the Assembly building, which was constructed in 1920 and completed in 1925 at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. He told them about several historic events, including the passage of a proposal to grant women the right to vote and the Quit India resolution that took place in the building.
Pathania also informed the students about the e-Vidhan system, which Himachal Pradesh had adopted in 2014, making it the first state to do so. He emphasised the importance of technology in improving the functioning of the Assembly and stated that Himachal was working to further enhance its digital capabilities.
The students had a detailed discussion with Pathania and asked him questions on various topics, including the anti-defection law, difference between NeVA and Himachal e-Vidhan, and the role of the Speaker in maintaining decorum in the House. Pathania gave detailed answers to their queries and shared his experiences and insights into the functioning of the Assembly.
