Rajesh Sharma, Director, Samagra Shiksha, said the initiative marks a major step in advancing the government’s focus on innovation-based teaching. “It will empower teachers with technical competence and foster curiosity and interest in science and innovation among students,” he said. He added that the programme aims to enhance teachers’ professional capabilities while nurturing students’ scientific outlook and problem-solving skills.

Sonia Sharma, State STEM Coordinator, said under the STEM project, teachers are being trained in modern technology and new teaching methodologies to encourage innovation and scientific thinking in classrooms. The project is being implemented on a pilot basis in 700 schools across Himachal Pradesh. “Twelve STEM instructors have been appointed in 12 districts, who are directly coordinating with schools to ensure the effective implementation of the project,” she said.

The exhibition featured innovative models designed by students of Government Senior Secondary School, Jhakri, which drew significant attention and appreciation from visitors at the fair for their creativity and practical application of scientific concepts.
