Tanda college hosts Himachal's first emergency response training

Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (Dr RPGMC), Tanda, conducted Himachal Pradesh’s first National Emergency Life Support (NELS) training programme from August 5 to 7, aimed at strengthening emergency care capabilities across the state.

The three-day programme brought together medical officers from various districts to enhance their critical care skills and improve emergency response and healthcare delivery.

The training focused on station-based simulations and hands-on clinical scenarios, enabling participants to develop practical competencies, improve response times and build confidence in making decisions during life-threatening emergencies.

The successful completion of the inaugural programme is expected to help establish standardised and quality emergency medical care across Himachal Pradesh’s public healthcare network.

The training was coordinated by Dr Bharti Gupta, Nodal Officer, under the leadership and guidance of Dr Milap Sharma, Principal, Dr RPGMC, Tanda.

The programme aimed to equip frontline doctors with essential emergency management skills so that prompt and life-saving care can be provided at hospitals across the state.
