In a bid to enhance pedagogical skills, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organised a storytelling capacity-building programme at Arihant International School, Nahan. The event saw the participation of teachers from various schools of the district and Haryana.

There were 30 participants from the host school and 23 from other schools. The programme was aimed at empowering educators with effective storytelling techniques to foster creativity and engagement in classrooms. Former principal Nidhi Rana and Hansraj Public School, Panchkula, principal Jaya Bhardwaj, as the resource persons at the event, conducted interactive sessions and workshops. Participants were introduced to various storytelling methods, including traditional oral storytelling, digital storytelling, and the integration of stories in different subjects.

Practical exercises and collaborative activities enabled teachers to gain hands-on experience. Highlighting the importance of such initiatives, Arihant International School director-principal Davinder K Sahni said, “The programme is an opportunity for the teachers to enhance their teaching methodologies. Storytelling can transform the learning experience, making it more impactful and enjoyable for students.” The event received positive feedback from the attendees, who appreciated the opportunity to learn new skills and network with peers from different regions.

CBSE plans to conduct more such programmes in the future, focusing on various aspects of modern education, Sahni added.
