Aspirants appearing for the teacher eligibility test (TET), conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education yesterday, have alleged that the question paper for medical (B) series was replete with errors.

“Most questions were incorrect and repeated. Even the multiple-choice answers were wrong,” they said.

Ruchika Sharma from Kangra said question number 144 was repeated and there were spelling errors.

Anu Sharma from Palampur said answers mentioned below some questions were wrong. “Question number 106 was “When was the Indian satellite launched”, but the right date — April 19, 1975 — wasn’t there in the options,” she added.

Questions 10, 41, 55, 63, 88, 106, 108, 112, 115 and 144 were incorrect. The students now want a probe by a committee.

They said either the board should re-conduct the examination or give grace marks.

Dr RD Sharma, former Deputy Director, Education, said each candidate was charged Rs 800 as fee. “It is sad that the board put them to harassment. The Education Minister should intervene. Either the exam be re-conducted or the students be given grace marks,” Sharma said.

Dharmesh Kumar, Secretary, Board of School Education, said on receiving a complaint, the board would constitute a committee to inquire into the matter and on the recommendation of the committee, remedial measures would be taken.
