Three drug peddlers arrested in Rohru

A case under the NDPS Act was registered against accused

Three more drug peddlers have been arrested in Rohru subdivision of Shimla district. The development follows the arrest of two drug peddlers from Punjab, who were held with 83 grams of heroin (chitta), on February 2.

The accused have been identified as Aashish (24), a resident of Khashdhar village in Chirgaon, Naveen Shitta (31), a resident of Gokswari in Chirgaon and Diwan Chand (39), a resident of Sundha village in Chirgaon.

According to the police, Jashandeep Singh and Dharampreet Singh were arrested with 83 gram chitta from Mehandli in Rohru. During investigation, the police analysed bank details of Jashandeep and Dharampreet and digital evidence based on which the involvement of other three accused was found in the drug trade.

Gaurav Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Shimla, said a case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused and further probe initiated into the matter.
