Shimla, August 16

Traffic was diverted on Thursday as massive landslides blocked National Highway 22 near Shkriala on Mehli-Dhalli section.

Trucks will cross Shimla only during night hours. Trucks coming from upper Shimla and Naldera side will be diverted via Dhalli to IGMC and then to Lakkar Bazaar while trucks from Ghannahatti and Shoghi sides will be diverted through Tuttikandi bifurcation to ISBT, Khalini Chowk, Chhota Shimla, and then to Dhalli.

Shimla-Hatkoti road was blocked near Patti Dhank between Kotkhai and Kharapathar.

Small vehicles will move via Tau, both from Kharapathar and Kotkhai. Heavy vehicles have been diverted via Narkanda Tikker. The roads are expected to open by Friday, police sources said.

Shimla-Kangra national highway was also closed due to a landslide between Galog and Bathalang, about 26 km from here. However, one-way traffic has been restored on the road.
