In a plantation drive being carried out under the aegis of the Forest Department, 50 saplings of deodar trees were planted in the uphill vicinity of Chamunda temple in Chamba town today.
On the occasion, District and Sessions Judge Rajesh Tomar also planted a sapling. He called upon the general public to plant more trees during this season of plantation. He appealed for wide awareness among the people about the conservation of plant.
“The plantation plays its invaluable participation in the ecological balance and the environment”, the District and Sessions Judge said adding that forests were not only nurturers of nature but were also great companions of humanity.
