Tributes paid to fallen soldiers at Dharamsala War Memorial

Himachal Day, observed every year on April 15 to commemorate the formation of state in 1948, was celebrated with reverence at the Dharamsala War Memorial today. Chander Kumar, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, laid a wreath to honour the fallen soldiers.

Members of the Governing Council, staff of the War Memorial Development Society and other officials accorded a warm welcome to the minister. The DC, SP and SDM were also present.

Colonel completes unity expedition

Col Jeet Bahadur, who had embarked on a motorcycle expedition on April 5 to collect soil from all 12 districts of the state, returned to the War Memorial Dharamsala today.

He was warmly welcomed by Col Jai Ganesh, senior vice-president, along with Governing Council and members of War Memorial Development Society. Twelve saplings were planted using the soil collected from different districts, on the newly dedicated ‘Ekta Upvan’. Col Jeet Bahadur later shared his experiences during the expedition.
