Two-day event to celebrate Chandradhar Sharma Guleri’s birth anniversary begins today
Shimla, July 5
The Department of Language and Culture is organising a state-level event on the birth anniversary of Chandradhar Sharma Guleri, a famous litterateur from the state, on July 6 and 7 at Central Research Institute, Kasauli, in Solan.
The first day of the programme will feature a play staged by Shimla’s ‘The Beginners’ theatre troupe. The play will be based on Guleri’s story Sukhmay Jeevan. A Kavi Sammelan is also on the roster and will witness poetry recitation by around 50 poets from across the state.The chief guest at the event will be Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma.
On the second day, writer Dr Vijay Vishal will present a research paper on “Guleri as an essayist”. This paper will be discussed by writers from all over the state.
