Two Himachal forensic experts awarded

The HP forensic services have bagged two prestigious awards — Best Director Award and Best Forensic Expert Award-2020.

The Best Director award was conferred on Dr Arun Sharma, heading the Directorate of Forensics Services, Himachal Pradesh, while the Best Forensic Expert Award was given to Dr SK Pal recently by International Forensic Sciences and Criminal Investigation Summit.

Dr Arun Sharma was awarded for his leadership in developing programmes and creating several educational platforms for forensic sciences and criminal investigations by the International Forensic Sciences and Criminal Investigation Summi.

Dr Sharma’s contribution in the murder case of Yug Gupta of Shimla city was well-appreciated.

Dr Surender Kumar Pal, Assistant Director, RFSL, Dharamsala, has been bestowed with the Best Forensic Expert Award for his services in solving mysteries of heinous crime cases and significant research in the field of biology and serology.

Dr Pal developed and tested a new technique for diagnosis of drowning death.
