The special investigation unit (SIU) of the Solan police arrested two youths with 84.87 grams of heroin in two cases last evening.

SP, Solan, Virender Sharma said that 35.33 grams of heroin was seized from Sonu Kumar (30), a Pinjore resident, at Kaylar village. The SIU team led by Sub-Inspector Sanjeev Kumar got a tip-off that Raju, who was staying at a rented accommodation at Kayler village, was selling heroin. When the police team reached his room, it instead found Sonu Kumar there and seized the contraband.

In another case, 49.54 grams of heroin was seized from Rohit Burathoki (26), a Nepalese, near Saproon. The SIU team had information that Rohit was carrying a backpack containing heroin and was coming to Solan to sell it. Cases under the NDPS Act have been registered and investigation is underway.
