Vacant posts hampering works, says ex-councillor

Bhupender Singh, former district councillor, said in the Dharampur Assembly constituency of Mandi district, the posts of Block Development Officer (BDO) and Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Public Works Department had been vacant which were hampering development works. “The BDO’s transfer took place three months ago, while the XEN’s position was vacated a month ago. However, no replacements have been appointed so far, causing delays in the completion of development projects,” he added.

Bhupender Singh raised concerns over the vacant positions, questioning why the posts of two key officials remain vacant in the constituency.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
