Shimla, June 12
With 16 new cases being reported today the total number of coronavirus cases in Himachal has shot up to 486.
The highest number of five cases were reported from Hamirpur where a family belonging to Chaner village of Sujanppur subdivision tested positive. They had returned from Jhansi in Madhya Pradesh on May 29 and were in home quarantine.
One of the family members had already tested positive on June 9 and had been shifted to Covid care centre. As such the five, who tested positive today, are primary contact of the man who tested positive two days back.
Archana Soni, CMO, Hamirpur, said that all of them would be shifted to Covid care centre today.
Three new cases were reported from Sirmaur, two from Kangra and one each from Solan and Chamba.
