Woman’s body found in Manali
The body of a woman was discovered along the road near Samahan under Manali subdivision of Kullu district yesterday. The woman was found lying on her back on a trail meant for pedestrians. Preliminary investigations suggest that her face appeared to have been mauled by animals, making her identification difficult.
Upon receiving information about the body, the police team arrived at the scene promptly. A detailed inspection of the body was conducted, including videography and photography. Investigations revealed that the woman's nose, mouth, lips and jaw appeared to have been gnawed by an animal, with clear marks from teeth visible. However, no other injuries were found on the body or neck.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination at the Medical College, Nerchowk, in Mandi, where the cause of death will be determined.
Authorities are working to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the circumstances leading to her death. The police are also reviewing nearby CCTV footage as part of their investigation.
