BJP state president Dr Rajeev Bindal launched a sharp attack on the Congress-led state government, alleging that 2025 for Himachal Pradesh would be remembered for a complete breakdown of law and order, unchecked rise in criminal activities and administrative failure on multiple fronts.
Addressing mediapersons, Bindal said the state’s crime graph had witnessed a disturbing rise this year, exposing what he termed as a fragile and ineffective security apparatus. He said incidents of crime were being reported almost daily, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among public.
The leader alleged that various mafia, including drugs, mining and forest, were openly operating, while incidents of gang wars had also surfaced. He said this was extremely alarming for the peaceful hill state. He said the growing drug menace was a serious concern.
Bindal further stated that the increasing number of daylight crimes reflected the deteriorating law and order situation. Citing specific cases, he said the death of engineer Vimal Negi remained unresolved, raising questions on the functioning of investigative agencies.
Turning to the issue of natural disasters, Bindal said 2025 would also be remembered for the deep scars left by calamities. He said hundreds of families were rendered homeless due to disasters, but the government failed to ensure timely relief and rehabilitation. According to him, the government’s response during the crisis was marked by insensitivity and apathy.
Bindal asserted that the cumulative impact of rising crime, unchecked mafia activities, disaster mismanagement and failures in the health sector had exposed the government’s shortcomings. He said the BJP would continue to raise these issues and hold the government accountable.
