The BJP responded by criticising the protest and accusing the Congress of attempting to damage India’s global image. Party spokesperson C R Kesavan said the conduct of the protesters was indefensible and alleged that it reflected a pattern of behaviour aimed at undermining the country. He further stated that such actions would not be forgotten by the public, particularly young citizens.

BJP leader Amit Malviya, in a social media post, termed the incident a “national shame”. He said that at a time when India was hosting a prestigious global summit to showcase innovation and leadership in artificial intelligence, Congress chose disruption over dignity.

Malviya alleged that the protest was intended to embarrass India on the world stage and said, that while political opposition is a democratic right, actions that harm the country’s global standing are not acceptable.

The BJP attributed the protest to Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, alleging that he and the Congress party were trying to tarnish India’s image on important international platforms.
