2 district court staff among 4 killed in separate accidents in Andhra Pradesh
The lorry slowed down due to speed breakers ahead, and the car coming from behind and crashed into the vehicle
Two district court employees were among four people who died in separate road accidents in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Monday.
Harish and Yugander, working in a court in Tirupati, died in an accident on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday near YSR junction on the Chittoor-Bangalore highway, they said.
"Two Tirupati district court staff died as the lorry slowed down due to speed breakers ahead, and the car coming from behind and crashed into the vehicle..." the official told PTI.
One person died on the spot while the other succumbed to injuries at a hospital, he said.
In another incident in Mandapet in East Godavari district, a couple drowned after their car plunged into a lake while travelling from Kakinada to Mandapet, said Rajamahendravaram East Zone Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) B Vidhya.
According to the official, the accident occurred after the driver dozed off at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer off the road into the water body.
The deceased couple were identified as N Veera Venkata Satish and R Kiranmai, while an elderly woman and two children were rescued by locals, said the DSP.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case under Section 106 of the BNS Act.
