Two IAS officers each from Punjab and Haryana and one from Himachal Pradesh were among 35 senior bureaucrats who were empanelled for holding secretary-level posts at the Centre.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet recently cleared high-profile bureaucratic empanelment of IAS officers belonging to 1992, 1993 and 1994 batches of different cadres. The empanelled officer from the Haryana cadre included Sukriti Likhi and Neerja Sekhar, both 1993-batch IAS officers.

Likhi is currently serving as the chairperson of the National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) while Sekhar who was previously serving as Special Secretary in Information and Broadcasting was transferred as DG National Productivity Council in December 2024.

From Punjab cadre, 1993-batch IAS officer Rakesh Kumar Verma and Tejveer Singh of the 1994 batch while 1994-batch IAS officer Anuradha Thakur from Himachal Pradesh cadre were empanelled.
