Akhilesh sharpens attack on BJP over Ayodhya temple donation row

His remarks came days after the Uttar Pradesh Government constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe allegations of embezzlement of donations made to the Ram Temple and concerns regarding the financial management of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Yadav claimed that CCTV footage linked to the alleged irregularities was missing and accused the authorities of failing to maintain transparency in handling donations.

"People are asking why a proper account of the funds has not been provided. Questions are being raised about donations, offerings and other contributions," he said.

The SP chief further alleged that complaints regarding grabbing of land and other irregularities in Ayodhya had repeatedly been brought to the government's notice. Citing information received from local residents and party workers, Yadav claimed that several individuals had lost possession of their land.

He urged residents to come forward with details of alleged land acquisitions and house demolitions so that such cases could be documented and raised before the government.
