The Board said it avoided “unhealthy competition” amongst the students by not declaring merit lists. The CBSE does not award first, second or third divisions to its students either.

At the class 10 level, CBSE offers 84 subjects, the highest number among any national or international board. Examinations are conducted worldwide at Indian Standard Time, ensuring uniformity and fairness.

In line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP), CBSE introduced two Board examinations for class 10 students this year. The first examination was held in February-March, and the second is scheduled for May. Students can now submit their candidature for the second examination through their respective schools. A separate circular will be issued by the CBSE to guide them through this process.

The students who participated in international or national sports events will be allowed to appear in the second board examinations.

Given the situation in West Asian countries, CBSE also decided to release the results of students from this region simultaneously with other students.
