Chaos at Mumbai airport as SpiceJet cancels 3 flights

SpiceJet cancelled three departures from Mumbai on Wednesday evening, citing operational reasons including aircraft grounding, adverse weather at previous stations and Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), said an official on Thursday.

The disruption during peak travel hours led to chaos at Mumbai airport’s Terminal 1.

In a related development, two Mumbai-Ahmedabad flights were delayed after adverse weather conditions at Varanasi and Bagdogra disrupted aircraft rotations. Both flights have since departed, albeit behind schedule. The airline said it was operating additional flights to accommodate affected passengers and minimise inconvenience caused by the disruption.
