CJP may back anti-paper leak protests in Bihar, Bengal & TN

Intelligence inputs warn against issues like E20 fuel controversy and police crackdown against students at Jantar Mantar could attract protests on similar lines in other cities

With anti-paper leak protests in Bihar having taken a violent turn after protesters in Siwan were reportedly fired upon by police personnel with a AK-47 gun, according to highly placed sources, a close watch is being kept at the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) next plan of action, with inputs indicating that it is likely to lend support to students' agitations in not just Bihar, but also in other states like West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.Intelligence inputs have indicated that the anti-NEET like protests which are currently being held in various cities across the country, may get the CJP's support. Also there are possibilities that similar agitations may spread to other cities too in coming days, and therefore the developments related to CJP's future course of action are being closely watched.

Intelligence inputs have warned that issues like ethanol blending (E20 fuel controversy) and the police crackdown against students at Jantar Mantar and the resultant sentiments it generated against police personnel, could attract protests on similar lines in other cities, and therefore all precautions are being undertaken by the internal security establishments, sources added.

Shamsher Singh Mehta, former Western Army Commander; Shri Paramjit Singh Patwalia, Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court.

THE TRIBUNE is free, objective, and independent. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language, are the hallmarks of the paper.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
