Cockroach founder Abhijeet Dipke to return on June 6, calls for Delhi protest

Amid continuing anger over exam-related controversies, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Monday announced he will return to India on June 6 to launch a peaceful protest in Delhi demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In a video posted on Instagram, Dipke urged students and supporters from across the country to unite and join the “constitutional and peaceful movement seeking accountability for repeated failures in the examination system”.

Appealing for public participation, Dipke said the “growing frustration among students over examination-related disruptions, controversies and uncertainty had reached a point where collective action had become necessary”. He said people must raise their voices democratically and peacefully if they wanted those in power to respond.

The youth influencer and activist also called on supporters to gather at the airport when he lands in Delhi on June 6. According to him, supporters will move from the airport to Parliament Street police station to seek permission for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar.

Dipke claimed that repeated examination controversies had created anxiety among students and questioned why accountability had remained missing despite recurring concerns surrounding the education system.

The Cockroach Janta Party, a youth-led satirical social media movement founded by Dipke, has rapidly gained visibility online, attracting support from several public figures and young followers.

The party traces its origins to controversial remarks attributed to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, in which unemployed or socially disengaged youth were allegedly compared to “cockroaches” and “parasites”. The remarks triggered outrage online. But instead of responding through conventional political protest, young users reclaimed the insult itself.

The Chief Justice had later clarified that his remarks were aimed at individuals entering professions with fake degrees, and not the unemployed youth in general.

Dipke formally launched the online campaign on May 16. He recently completed his master’s degree in public relations from Boston University in the US.
